About Us Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.
The Opportunity We are currently seeking a trade qualified Diesel Mechanic to join the Workshop team as our Leading Hand based in the Somerton branch.
This role will see you lead a highly skilled workshop crew performing assembly, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment.
Reporting to the Branch Co-ordinator, your responsibilities will include: Leading a team Workshop Technicians to meet, deliver and exceed service expectations Driving efficiency within the team to meet tight deadlines whilst ensuring employees comply with all WHS responsibilities and that a safety first culture is a consistent behaviour within the department Liaising with technical support staff and coordinate diagnostic, maintenance and repair work Maintaining work schedules to ensure efficient utilization of equipment and resources Be responsible for the day-to-day activities of workshop personnel and ensure labour is used effectively Liaise with stakeholders pertaining to machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty To be successful in this role you will have: Previous experience leading a team to achieve and exceed set goals Hold relevant Australian (or Australian recognised) diesel or mobile plant trade qualifications Safety first mindset - ensure the HCA Safety Culture is embraced, displayed, and driven from within Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long term relationships The ability to navigate complex technical issues to deliver high quality outcomes in repair and maintenance services with minimal to zero rework Excellent technical knowledge of Hitachi mining and construction equipment would be highly advantageous Benefits – What's in it for you?
