Reporting to the Airfield Services Supervisor, this is a critical role that will minimize the risk that airside works and off-airport hazards present to airfield safety. You'll be responsible for the coordination and oversight of airside works, ensuring the safety and compliance of the Maneuvering Area, plus monitoring and reporting of new obstacles in the airspace.
As a senior aerodrome reporting officer on duty, the role provides additional supervisory support to the Airfield Services Supervisor, fostering collaborative relationships with on-airport stakeholders.
This position will initially be performed within regular business hours to support the development of processes and procedures. It will then transition to shift work to support WSA's operational trials and testing prior to the airport commencing live operations when the role will require permanent shift work.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the supervision of airside works, including the briefing and allocation of Works Safety Officer resources, ensuring the appropriate establishment of airside worksites and access routes.Deployment of visual aids and barriers in accordance with applicable regulations and standards, verifying the serviceability of airside facilities before return to service.Liaising with the AOCC and AsA regarding the closure and re-opening of airside facilities.Fulfill the Works Safety Officer (WSO) function where required to support emergency works.Review and monitor works in accordance with all AWP and MOWP's and ensure all restrictions and required precautions are in place. Ensure required NOTAMs are in place prior to works commencing.Support the Airfield Services Supervisor by responding to off-airport intrusions of the Obstacle Limitation Surface identified during the day of operations.Support operational response in the event of a declared Airport Emergency.Monitor and report on the serviceability of the maneuvering area with primary responsibility for responding to reported hazards and conducting serviceability inspection on the runway and taxiway network. Report on any defects and verify rectification of notified defect rectification works.Report and address instances of contractor non-compliance with WSA's airside works policies, procedures and restrictions.Respond to safety incidents and gather relevant information for reporting. Coordinate with WSA Safety, the Airfield Services Supervisor and AOCC to report incidents to the relevant regulators and coordinate attendance of emergency services. Oversee the return of affected facilities to service.Monitor and report on wildlife activity and undertake required mitigation and management activities.Designated DAMP Supervisor on duty for all works undertaken airside.This role may also be called upon to act up as the Airfield Services Supervisor.About You: A minimum of 2-3 years' experience as an Aerodrome Reporting Officer with experience in coordinating and overseeing airside works and the management of wildlife hazards.Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent stakeholder management skills.Flexibility and ability to adapt to change, working on multiple issues at the same time.Confident and self-motivated, being a genuine team player.NSW Firearms License.Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate.Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).NSW Drivers License and ability to obtain an Airside Driving Authority.Senior First Aid Certificate.NSW General Construction Induction White Card.What We Offer: This role represents a great opportunity to join an Airport that represents the future of aviation and to showcase your skills within a dynamic, fast-paced and high-performance culture by living WSA's values:
