APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION CLOSE AT MIDDAY ON WEDNESDAY, 11 DECEMBER 2024 Forest Management Branch assesses, monitors, and predicts forest growth and health using cutting-edge remote sensing technologies, natural resource inventories, and essential mapping and planning services to guide the long-term conservation and protection of forest ecosystems.
We are currently seeking a Works and Training Coordinator - Forest Management to join our team. Responsible for leading the preparation and integration of the Branch-wide annual field work schedule, considering Branch and Program Leader requirements, resource availability, seasonal, and environmental factors. This includes coordination, allocation of work and monitoring progress for teams undertaking ecological survey and resource management programs. The role includes liaison within the department and external parties to refine work priorities and technical standards, develop and arrange training opportunities, management of the Branch vehicle fleet, and investigation of new field survey technologies to enhance program outcomes.

Selection Criteria Applicants should address the following five (5) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total. Demonstrated ability and considerable experience coordinating field assessments, technical project teams or field operations works programs in natural environments to achieve multiple program objectives within a continuous improvement framework.Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to promote and maintain good working relationships within a team environment.Well-developed written communication skills and working knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft office and GIS mapping software.Demonstrated ability to resolve analytical and technical problems.Demonstrated experience undertaking natural resource field measurement and survey projects, including developing standards, delivering training, and data management.About Us DBCA, one of Western Australia's largest state government agencies, providing exciting and challenging career opportunities in biodiversity conservation and park and natural resource management.
