We now have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Workplace Relations and Business Advisory Coordinator, to champion operational excellence and play a key role in our transformation program.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, as the Workplace Relations and Business Advisory Coordinator, you will lead a multi-functional team of business partnering and workplace relations professionals, to partner with line management to manage risk and responsibility in employee & industrial relations. Leverage your experience and skills to develop a business partnering framework that enhances management capability and service levels.
Key responsibilities will include: Oversee a team of business partners to provide strategic support in employee relations, including probation, performance, and misconduct management.Ensure compliance with delegation, policy, and agreements in industrial relations, representing the Council at external hearings and conciliation.Enhance payroll systems for greater efficiency and reporting.Gather and integrate stakeholder feedback into policy and practice, providing guidance and coaching to managers.Lead and develop a team of People and HR professionals, fostering our reputation as trusted advisors.Lead continuous improvement to boost employee and customer experience.To contribute to your success in this role you will have: Demonstrable experience in leading a team of business partnering professionals.Significant experience in employee & industrial relations.Experience in developing and implementing business partnering models.Experience in interpretation of and negotiation of industrial instruments and working in unionised environments.Self-motivation, with the ability to influence and bring about desired organisational changes.Proven experience in managing projects within budget and timelines.Knowledge and experience in application of employment and other legislative frameworks in a service sector or similar environment.Excellent internal stakeholder management and relationship skills, taking a partnering approach with managers and staff.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including business case and report writing to a high level.A tertiary qualification in business or a related field with significant experience in a similar role is required, or alternatively extensive aligned experience in a similar environment is necessary.
