You set your own hours and rates, and receive full training and support from our senior consultants and customer care team.
Workplace Rehabilitation Consultants Workplace rehabilitation consultants play a vital role in the return to work process of an employee with a work-related injury or illness.
A workplace rehabilitation consultant is engaged by the employer to provide expert services when additional assistance to support an employee's recovery and return to work is needed. The services of a workplace rehabilitation provider are used to identify and address any risk factors which may impact a successful return to work, to translate functional gains into meaningful work, and provide evidenced-based advice on the best pathway to recovery and return to work.
Workplace rehabilitation services include:
initial workplace rehabilitation needs assessment assessment of the functional capacity of an employee ergonomic assessments creating and monitoring a rehabilitation or return to work plan job analysis advice about job modification rehabilitation counselling vocational assessment advice or assistance in job seeking advice or assistance in arranging vocational re-education or retraining case conferences. Qualification Requirements Workplace rehabilitation consultants must hold one of the following qualifications:
Occupational therapist; or Physiotherapist; or Nurse; or Rehabilitation Counsellor; or AND
Be an approved Comcare workplace rehabilitation consultant or be willing to complete Comcare's mandatory training to become approved. The training provided by Comcare consists of free self-paced e-learning courses and one half day workshop delivered in person or online (cost approximately $385). The training is not required if you are already an approved Comcare rehabilitation consultant. Experience Workplace rehabilitation consultants must have at least 12 months' professional experience in providing such rehabilitation services. However, if a consultant has less than 12 months experience, they will be supervised by one of Workcom's experienced consultants until they reach the minimum experience requirements.

Workplace rehabilitation consultants must hold and provide evidence of the following business credentials:
