Conduct internal investigations into employee behaviorsWork in a supportive teamBrilliant benefits and a flexible hybrid work environment!About the RoleThe Workplace Integrity team takes a university-wide approach to address all forms of complaints regarding staff behaviour and conduct. The team effectively leverages subject matter expertise within and beyond the University to deliver tailored, effective, and efficient outcomes for each case.
This is an exciting time to join our Workplace Integrity team, supporting the Workplace Integrity Director in conducting internal investigations into employee behaviour that may breach University policies on employment, appropriate behaviour, and conduct.
Your responsibilities will include: Plan and undertake investigation processes that accord with procedural fairness principles and remain impartial, ethical, and supportive of those impactedApply a trauma informed approach to managing the investigation processConduct interviews with parties with a fair, neutral and consistent approachMaintain appropriate, thorough and up to date documentation of the investigation processCritically analyse all information gathered as part of the investigation and evaluate credibility and relevance of the evidence. Make appropriate assessment and apply judgement to draw appropriate conclusionsWho we are looking forWe're seeking an experienced, calm and empathetic workplace investigator with a background in law, industrial relations, or human resources. You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex information clearly. Your capacity to exercise sound judgment under pressure, navigate challenging situations, and maintain impartiality and integrity will be essential for success in this role.
You will also have: Tertiary qualifications/experience in Employment/Human Rights Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or WorkSafe/Workers' CompensationA minimum of 3 years' experience in undertaking workplace investigationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information clearly and draft investigation reportsWell-developed interviewing skills and demonstrated understanding of trauma informed principles and procedural fairnessDemonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities and a range of matters while ensuring that best practice service delivery and robust outcomes are deliveredFor further information regarding responsibilities and requirements please refer to the attached PD. This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures. Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role requires current valid work rights for Australia.
