Join for an exciting career opportunity as a Workplace Health and Safety Manager to lead the development and application of safety management strategies and systems across QBuild and to ensure the highest possible standards of safety performance and compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
About the role You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing strong leadership by addressing critical issues and developing and implementing the strategic interventions necessary to ensure the success of Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) strategies across QBuild Operations.
Duties and skills involved: Oversee regional activities to ensure Workplace Health Safety and Environment (WHS&E) compliance and manage Safety Management System implementation, risk identification, and audit programs. Provide expert advice to operational, supervisory, and senior management on QBuild's Safety Management System, legislative compliance, and new technologies. Conduct WHS&E audits and inspections to ensure compliance for both QBuild and contractor work. Coordinate training and information sessions, ensuring state WHS training systems are maintained. Lead incident and hazard investigations, reporting, and improvement strategies. Develop and implement organizational change strategies to improve safety culture and performance across QBuild. Preferred skills and experience: WHS&E experience in construction, maintenance, or similar industry. Certificate IV in WHS would be highly desirable.
