About the role
As a safety-first leader, the role of Manager, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) will report to the CFO and work closely across functions within Foot Locker engaging Human Resources (HR), field audit, supply chain and customer support teams, overseeing WHS for the business in Australia and New Zealand. Using your strong collaborative approach, you will build and maintain successful internal relationships to promote a high performing safety culture, address potential physical and psychological risks as well as coordinate successful training programs backed by compliant business practices and relevant Australian and International Standards.
Note: This position requires a current Australian driver's license with availability to complete local and possibly international travel from time to time, as well as flexibility to accommodate meetings with global partners outside of normal business hours, e.g. USA.
ResponsibilitiesWhat is involved Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring WHS policies and procedures ensuring compliance.Provide information and coaching when implementing strategies, systems and processes to support the APAC region in being WHS compliant.Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments, including documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.Collaborate with the APAC leadership team to foster a strong safety culture and provide advice to management and team members on matters relating to WHS.Assist in delivering engaging WHS training sessions and induction programs for current and new team members and contractors to support understanding of WHS protocols.Collaborate with HR and support incident reporting and investigations, and the analysis of data to identify trends and recommend strategies for improvement.Support new store launch programs and projects with WHS at the forefront.QualificationsAbout you Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety preferred (or at least Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment)Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a WHS leadership or management roleComprehensive understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and relevant Australian and International StandardsProficiency in creating SOPs and WHS policies, with knowledge of Workcover regulations.Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and as a Return-to-Work CoordinatorAdvanced MS Excel skillsDemonstrated ability to coordinate, deliver and evaluate WHS training programs, policies, procedures and initiatives to meet legislative and organisational needsAbility to work autonomously and within a team environment with a service-oriented attitudeHigh level, clear and effective communications skills (written and verbal)Flexible approach to work, and an open mindset to embrace new ideasBenefitsWhat's in it for you Annual performance-based bonusA flexible hybrid working environmentExcellent staff discounts on Foot Locker products – Nike, Adidas, ASICS and many more!Free on-site parkingAccess for you and your immediate family to our Employee Assistance ProgramFree access to Wellhub (Gympass)An inclusive and supportive team culture.If this opportunity is of interest to you, click the 'Apply' button below including a cover letter addressing the 'About you' criteria and an up-to-date resume.
