Our training is delivered to students and apprentices on-site, online, in the workplace, or on-campus to give people the skills they need to enrich their communities, support their industries, and strengthen their local economies.By working at TAFE Queensland, you can be part of a highly experienced workforce closely connected with their industries and dedicated to delivering best practices and innovative training.Your OpportunitySkillsThe Workplace Health, Safety and Environment (WHSE) Coordinator is responsible for contributing to a positive safety culture across the SkillsTech Region through:working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and support the delivery of a range of WHSE activities within the Region;leading the planning and coordination of WHSE related events and initiatives within the Region;analysing WHSE related data and/or information, and generating reports as required.This position reports to the Manager, Health, Safety and Wellness.This is a Permanent, Full-time opportunity.The position will be based primarily at Acacia Ridge, however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to the success of cultural change within the organisation through promoting and modelling SkillsTech core values and Agreed Behaviours and the established TAFE Queensland values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Showing Initiative and Taking Responsibility.Work as part of a team in the delivery of efficient and effective WHSE services to the region by undertaking assigned functions, participating in projects and working with staff to establish and meet business needs.Provide advice and monitor systems to ensure that incidents are investigated in a timely manner, records are kept according to legislative requirements, and there is monitoring to closure, of actions or controls arising from the investigation.Undertake WHSE investigations as required.Interrogate and analyse WHSE related data, providing regular, accurate and meaningful reports to enable the Senior Executive Team (SET), Health Safety and Wellness (HSW) Management and Operational Committees, local managers, and the HSW team to proactively engage in WHSE activities.Develop and implement a schedule of WHSE reports relevant to the various work groups in the region.Develop and implement a schedule of WHSE inspections for all campuses to ensure safe work practices and environments are maintained, reporting outcomes, risks and issues.Coordinate training needs analysis for the region to identify, develop, and coordinate the delivery of appropriate training programs.Apply relevant project management strategies to lead and/or coordinate WHSE related projects, events and/or initiatives for the Region; and where relevant, represent the Region's interests on TAFE Queensland wide project/working groups to capitalise on working together for TAFE Queensland wide strategies and priorities.Provide administrative and financial services to support the HSW team, including:the preparation of correspondence and associated documentation;mailbox management;secretariat duties;purchasing and reconciliation activities.Proactively participate in local Performance Planning and Development (PPD) processes, seeking opportunities for self-development and contributing to the development of the broader Operations and WHSE portfolio.RequirementsHighly desirable:Current Queensland Driver License (as travel is required across the Region).How You Will Be AssessedThe ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:Highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to liaise, consult, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders and prepare accurate and meaningful advice, reports, correspondence and presentations.Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills, workings effectively under pressure, prioritising tasks, and delivering successful outcomes within specified timeframes, either independently or as a member of a team.Demonstrated skill in the use of a range of computerised systems and applications relevant to WHSE, including but not limited to SMART360, Power BI Reporting, Service Now, and the Microsoft Office suite of products, including the ability to ensure data accuracy and integrity, generate and analyse reports, and provide evidence-based recommendations and advice.Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply, WHSE legislation, codes, standards, policies and procedures.Proven ability to contribute to a high performing team, establishing meaningful connections with employees throughout the organisation, effectively building trust and rapport, and contributing positively to cultural change.How To ApplyIf you're interested in this role, click the 'Apply' button to submit your application via the TAFE Queensland Recruitment Portal.
