About the Role: As a WHS & Safety Advisor reporting to the General Manager Workplace Health Safety and Wellbeing, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting providing transactional day-to-day support, guidance, and resources across our 'Work' division managers.
This involves: Lead the identification and reporting of potential hazards, near misses, work-related incidents, injuries and/or illness.Ensure inclusion for employees we support in their ability to provide active consultation, input, and reporting into the WHS Management System.Provide on-site WHS support and guidance.Conduct site visits, audits, and investigations at various locations appropriate to business need and risk.Ensure all WHS documents at a site level are up-to-date and readily accessible to employees.Assist with the specific training needs of different work teams and roles in alignment with a WHS Specialist role, or as directed from One-up Manager.Facilitate toolbox talks and contribute to safety meetings.Serve as a key communicator and collaborator, fostering strong relationships across various teams and all workers to enhance safety and wellbeing outcomes.Be proactive in sourcing information and providing guidance on hazards or risk management strategies that may be new to the businessAbout You: Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or relevant discipline.Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis tools and methodologies e.g., Taproot/ICAM preferred.Internal Audit qualifications are highly desirable.Fire Safety Advisor qualifications (essential for QLD-based roles).Previous experience as a WHS Advisor or a similar role in either manufacturing, transport, or logistics.You possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of fostering strong relationships across all levels of stakeholders from Executive Leadership to frontline staff.Experience in the disability or community service sectors is highly desirable.Ability to travel as required (car provided).
