Our client is seeking a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer to join the team.
The role works closely with the WHS Manager by implementing and monitoring state-wide WHS matters within a diverse team of building, construction, and maintenance field and office staff in this government department.
About the role: Provide workplace health and safety (WHS) advice, service, and assistance to the department, including a diverse range of WHS activities and technical matters relating to operational activities, health programs, WHS initiatives, WHS systems/processes, and rehabilitation and return to work. Interpret WHS legislation, including relevant legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards/International Standards, and provide WHS advice on technical matters relating to the building, construction, and maintenance industry, particularly in the development of WHS systems and processes and assist with the development, review, and implementation of baseline risk assessments. Conduct site WHS&E audits and inspections to ensure all workers are adhering to WHS legislation and make recommendations to improve safety.
