Workplace Health & Safety OfficerBrisbane CBD$54 per hour + SuperMonday to FridayShort term contract with possible extensionGreat team environmentOur client is seeking a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer to join the team. The role works closely with the WHS Manager by implementing and monitoring state-wide WHS matters within a diverse team of building, construction and maintenance field and office staff in this government department.About the role:

Provide workplace health and safety (WHS) advice, service and assistance to the department, including a diverse range of WHS activities and technical matter relating to operational activities, health programs, WHS initiatives, WHS system/processes, and rehabilitation and return to work.Interpret WHS legislation, including relevant legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards/International Standards and provide WHS advice on technical matter relating to building, construction and maintenance industry, particularly in the development of WHS system and processes.Assist with the development, review and implementation of Baseline risk assessments.Conduct site WHS&E audits and inspections to ensure all workers are adhering to WHS legislation and make recommendations to improve safety.About you:
