The Opportunity We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, as well as NDIS and Aged Care requirements. You will have the opportunity to shape safety practices, influence policies, and create a positive impact for both our team and the wider community. What You'll Do Ensure GCLA's compliance with WHS legislation, NDIS Practice Standards, and Aged Care Quality Standards. Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and workplace inspections across our programs and services. Lead WHS training and inductions to ensure all staff are prepared and knowledgeable. Investigate incidents and implement strategies to prevent future risks. Develop and maintain emergency response plans, with a focus on ensuring the safety of NDIS participants and Aged Care clients. Provide expert advice and support on all WHS matters to leadership, staff, and external stakeholders. Why Join Us? About You You're someone who is passionate about safety, loves engaging with people, and is driven by continuous improvement. You bring: A Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent). Knowledge of WHS legislation, NDIS Practice Standards, and Aged Care Quality Standards. Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and managing WHS systems. Strong communication skills to train and support staff across all levels. A background in community services, NDIS, or Aged Care is highly desirable.
