Industry Skills Advisory Council NT is seeking an experienced & passionate Workforce & Skills Officer to join us to lead the team to deliver a high level of quality services.
PURPOSE OF POSITION The position is responsible for preparing and providing advice, intelligence, and support to industry, specifically in training package development, workforce development, skills shortages, and workforce solutions.
The Workforce & Skills Officer will lead by example in alignment with ISACNT's purpose, mission, values, and goals.
SPECIFIC DUTIES Workforce & Skills Identify opportunities to develop and improve industry workforce solutions and strategies.Build strong relationships with industry associations, businesses, schools, registered training organisations, and government in the Northern Territory, including in regional and remote areas.Manage contracts and ensure achievement of contractual compliance.Promote the Vocational Education and Training sectors and pathways with industry.Provide support to industry and training providers to deliver workforce development strategies and programs.Consult with industry participants and associations, supporting them to address current and future workforce development and skill needs, and to develop and implement solutions.Contribute to the development of national qualifications to ensure relevance to industry is maintained.Prepare high-level reports, papers, articles, and social media communications.Keep abreast of and provide expert advice on workforce initiatives and strategies, including migration, international student programs, apprenticeship programs, and government and agency programs.Manage or participate in project evaluation to ensure desired outcomes are being achieved.Maintain strong knowledge of and currency in the National and Northern Territory Vocational Education & Training policies, training products, product development and implementation.As an ISACNT representative, participate in conferences, committees, industry forums, industry working groups and networking events.Manage and deliver events, presentations, and public speaking to promote ISACNT and as required.Undertake professional development, intrastate and interstate travel associated with the role when and if required.Quality Management System Take a leading role to foster a client focus, to develop best practice and continuous improvement.Assist to develop, implement, and monitor compliance with policies and procedures. Identify opportunities to improve policies and procedures and resolve identified discrepancies.Coordinate and assist with any internal audits, quarterly or as required.Leadership Support an environment across all offices that will encourage a professional, productive, and friendly workplace.Collaborate with and support internal and external clients.Support other employees with appropriate training, resources, equipment, and systems. Always behave in a professional manner and align with the organisation's values.Prepare reports and other documentation as required by the Chief Executive Officer or Operations Manager.Customer Service Provide quality advice and service provision to internal and external clients.Exercise a high level of interpersonal/customer service skills in dealing with all prospective and existing clients.Provide timely and accurate advice and information in a professional manner.Ensure that all communications (telephone, email, and fax) are promptly responded to.Respond to relevant client complaints in a timely manner and ensure the best outcome for both ISACNT and the client.Professional interaction with community groups, schools, individuals, and other stakeholders, including regional networks.Ensure the delivery of quality customer service.Marketing Increase community awareness of ISACNT services and business units.Create strategic alliances with key stakeholders in regional and remote communities.Promote and market the ISACNT products and quality service schemes.Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.Actively source new business and marketing ISACNT services to prospective employers/organisations throughout the Northern Territory.At all times represent ISACNT in a professional and positive manner.ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Strong knowledge of the National and Northern Territory Vocational Education and Training (VET) principles and developments.Knowledge of the National Training Packages, ANZSIC and ANZSCO frameworks.Proven ability to engage industry groups to enhance workforce and industry capability and capacity, and a working knowledge of workforce issues at all business and industry levels.Proven ability to conduct public speaking and presentations to a broad range of stakeholders.Strong time management skills, and the ability to balance multiple and competing priorities.Proven ability to deliver a high level of writing and reporting skills.Strong communication and presentation skills.Proven ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.Extensive practical written, interpersonal, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.Proficiency with Microsoft suite and client databases.LICENCES/TICKETS Current NT C-Class Drivers LicenceWorking with Children's ClearanceWhite Card (if applicable)National Police Check DESIRABLE CRITERIA Understanding of employment legislation.Existing relationships with industry participants and associations in the Northern Territory.Qualifications in an associated discipline such as Human Resources.ABOUT US Industry Skills Advisory Council NT (ISACNT) is an independent not-for-profit organisation that provides advice and gathers intelligence on training package development, workforce development, skills shortages and workforce solutions in the Northern Territory.
