We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.Join our team and contribute to providing South Australia's women, babies, children and young people with the best health care both within our hospital or via our many and varied community services and programs.The OpportunityThe Workforce Relations Advisor will lead and/or coordinate employee relations projects and contribute to workforce policy and procedure development, implementation and evaluation.Responsibilities:Advisory Service: Provide effective employee and industrial relations advisory services, including interpreting government policies, managing entitlements, and coordinating project and policy reviews.Representation: Contribute as the Industrial Relations representative for People and Culture in major workforce reviews, liaising with stakeholders, and advocating for best practices in employee relations and workforce management.Training and Development: Develop and deliver relevant training activities, focusing on employee relations within the agency.Negotiations and Advocacy: Lead or contribute to negotiations with industrial organizations, resolving disputes, and contributing to the development of enterprise bargaining strategies.Policy Development: Review, initiate amendments, and promote employee and industrial relations policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Provide guidance on relevant legislation and government policies.Advocacy at Tribunals: Prepare submissions and advocate on behalf of WCHN before state tribunals and other jurisdictions.Risk Management: Develop risk strategies, provide advice on workforce management risk, and contribute to maintaining the quality and risk management framework.About YouEssential RequirementsEducational Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in Law, Human Resource Management, or Industrial Relations.Skills and Abilities:Strong written and oral communication skills.Persuasive and effective advocate for optimal employee and industrial relations policies.Conflict resolution and analytical abilities.Flexibility and adaptability to organizational change.Negotiation skills and ability to perform under pressure.Experience:Experience in high-level employee relations advisory services and negotiation.Experience in the research, development, and interpretation of employee relations policies.Dealing effectively with senior-level staff and representing organizations in industrial forums.Knowledge:Understanding of the health sector and associated workforce relations issues.Knowledge of employee relations theory, legislative framework, and commitment to human resource management principles.Computer literacy using Microsoft Office Suite.Benefits of Joining usNot only will you be able to use your skills and abilities in both a challenging and rewarding role contributing to some of South Australia's most vulnerable women, babies, children and young people, you will also receive an attractive annual salary package with employer superannuation contributions and leave loading as well as the opportunity to maximise your salary through salary sacrifice arrangements.Application InstructionsYou will be required to attach a 1-2 page cover letter addressing the key selection criteria of the role and a current resume/curriculum vitae prior to clicking 'Submit Application'.
