The RoleWithin the Military Workforce Design Division, the team is currently focused on working with Navy (future reviews to be conducted on other parts of Defence) undertaking a series of Command and Control Organisation Transformation reviews. Using a bespoke Organisational Review and Reform methodology based on systems principles and data analytics, your role is to lead and manage the data analysis and assessment team. This includes data compilation and cleansing, design of analysis templates, development of analysis algorithms, development of function systems hierarchies, and the conduct of strategic assessments. The position requires using a mix of analytics and analysis skills, including resource-planning optimisation, statistical analysis, quantitative and qualitative data assessment, and the ability to make recommendations and communicate complex information effectively in report form for broad consumption to inform strategic business decisions. This role will also require high level of influence, coordination, communication and negotiation skills, particularly working with key and high level stakeholders across Defence. About our TeamYou will be one of 3 Program Leads working with a team of up to 10 ADF and APS employees working closely together on the suite of tasks, requiring cross sharing of effort and resources to deliver outcomes. You will need to be able work in a team that includes both technical and non-technical personnel. Our Ideal CandidateOur ideal candidate will have a deep background in data analytics/science with an understanding of the application of data analysis to organisation design. You will be required to manage multiple stakeholders, large amounts of collection and analysis of data from various sources and have the ability to analyse, draw conclusions and present complex information is a digestible format to varied audiences. You will need proficiency in using spreadsheets and the use of dashboards; the team is currently using Power BI and MS Excel. You will be expected to identify efficiencies and improvements to the current data collection and analysis process. Importantly, you will need to demonstrate resilience in a dynamic and demanding environment. You will also need to lead a team of resources, uplift capability, and deliver your findings to support the reviews within strict timeframes. Experience working in Defence –highly desirable although not essential.
