Tasmanian Catholic Education Office, a division of Catholic Education Tasmania, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Work Health & Safety Officer to join our dynamic team in the north of the state.

As the Work Health & Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students, staff, and visitors across some of our northern Tasmanian schools and facilities.
Reporting to the Manager: Risk, Work Health Safety and Compliance (RWC), you will be accountable for providing compliance management expertise to support safe and secure school facilities, grounds and educational environments that contribute to enhanced student learning outcomes and compliance with statutory obligations.
Your primary responsibilities will include: Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and implementing effective control measures to mitigate potential hazards.
Delivering training programs to promote a culture of safety awareness among staff and students.
Collaborating with school administrators, maintenance teams, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
Investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes, and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to Work Health & Safety activities.
Some of the skills and experiences we are looking for are: Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS or extensive equivalent experience in WHS Current Tasmanian vehicle driver licence You will join an organisation that is driven by: Its vision of Student Focused, Christ Centred, Learning for Life.
