The business has steadily grown its transport and warehousing contracts and now boasts a team of 550 permanent employees and subcontractors from 10 locations throughout Victoria, South Australia and Queensland.
Due to continuous growth, we are seeking a dedicated resource to promote, lead and develop our safety management systems.
The role would require the incumbent to work with several key stakeholders across the business including but not limited to Company Directors and National OHS & Compliance Manager.

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe workplace, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Work Health and Safety Officer to ensure our operations adhere to the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of the workplace to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.Collaborate with all depots to develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and make necessary adjustments to ensure adherence.Organize and conduct safety training programs for employees, educating them about best practices and emergency procedures.Assist in the investigation of workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, training, and compliance activities.Liaise with external agencies, auditors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate inspections and ensure our safety practices meet or exceed industry standards.Stay informed about the latest developments and advancements in work health and safety, recommending improvements to existing processes and equipment.Requirements: Proven experience as a Work Health and Safety Officer or a related role.A thorough understanding of local and national safety regulations and standards.Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement effective safety protocols.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail.Certification or Qualifications in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, capable of driving safety initiatives independently.Proficiency in using computer software for data management and reporting.Join our team and make a significant impact on the safety and well-being of our employees!
