About the Department for Correctional Services The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and sixteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator is accountable to the Team Leader Safety Systems for:
Developing, implementing, and monitoring of WHS systems, policies, and procedures through the development of health and safety plans and initiatives. The provision of appropriate WHS advice and information to staff and Management. Contributing to corporate WHS initiatives and projects. Special Conditions Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements. The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check. A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential. A flexible approach to working hours is required. Some intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences. The incumbent is a member of the PBS Directorate and will be required to work at multiple sites.

Remuneration: ASO4 ($74,315 - $77,901pa)
