About the role Based in our head office at Kirrawee, this is an opportunity to join a values' driven organisation and impact positively on the lives of our workers and clients. In the role you will manage a small team to effectively support all levels of the business, ensuring a safe workplace. Responsibilities include: Develop and maintain the Sylvanvale Work Health and Safety Management System, ensuring compliance to the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, Regulations and Code of Practice. Implement policies and procedures that ensure pro-active hazard identification and safe behaviors. Analyze data to identify risk areas and implement strategies to reduce the likelihood of injuries and illness. Build a positive safety culture through different initiatives. Oversee the Injury Management and Workers Compensation claims and premium management to: ensure injured workers are safe and supported. ensure legislative compliance. implement best practice and reduce premium costs. Provide reporting and presentations to the business about work health and safety. About you You have a strong passion for leadership and keeping people safe. You are an excellent communicator and lead for impact. You know how to influence others to achieve change. You are resilient and able to challenge when required. You are a highly organized, solutions focused professional who is responsive, intuitive, innovative, self-motivated and driven to achieve great outcomes. To be successful for the role, you will need: Relevant qualification in Work, Health & Safety or similar At least 5 years' experience in a Work Health and Safety and Injury Management role Demonstrated experience in maintaining an effective work health and safety management system. Demonstrated outcomes related to injury prevention and return to work strategies. Report, policy and investigation writing skills. Desirable: Knowledge of disability services industry or other human services. Knowledge of RiskMan or similar systems. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Successful applicants will require a current Australian Drivers Licence, two COVID-19 vaccinations and a booster and full Australian Work rights. An offer will be subject to a police clearance and a NDIS Worker Screening Check.
