Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain OHS management systems, policies, and procedures that align with organisational goals.
Lead the creation of effective, streamlined management systems that meet stakeholder needs.
Oversee safety documentation, maintaining up-to-date registers and records in compliance with ISO PRO standards.
Track and monitor the currency of safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring compliance across all operations.
Coordinate safety audits, hazard assessments, and management system reviews, providing actionable recommendations.
Support the investigation of workplace incidents and implement preventive measures.
Ensure the organisation meets all OHS-related legal and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and manage compliance programs, workers' compensation, and return-to-work initiatives.
Provide strategic advice on risk management and implement processes to identify, analyze, and prioritise safety risks.
Lead external audit preparations and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
Mentor and coach WHS team members to foster growth and performance excellence.
Delegate tasks effectively, conduct performance reviews, and provide training and development opportunities. Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting open communication and accountability.
Design and implement systems to monitor and evaluate OHS performance against strategic objectives.
Create lead indicators for organisational KPIs to drive continuous safety improvements.


Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:

A tertiary or post-graduate qualification in Safety Management or a related discipline.
Extensive experience in both strategic and operational safety leadership roles.
Advanced understanding of OHS legislation, compliance systems, and risk management strategies.
Strong expertise in leading audits, managing safety accreditations, and implementing WHS frameworks.

Key Requirements

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Advanced computer literacy, particularly in MS Word, Excel, and safety management systems.
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable but not essential).
