About the Role: This position presents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced energy lawyer to join the legal team of one of Australia's leading listed companies at an exciting time. Working within the marketing and trading legal team, you will provide legal support for Woodside's Singapore-based Global Trading and Optimisation division as well as APAC-focused marketing origination and business development activities.
Duties & Responsibilities: Provide commercial-focussed pragmatic legal advice and strategic counsel to the Singapore Directors, management and traders, including supporting the negotiation, implementation and administration of various commercial arrangements associated with global LNG and Liquids (Crude, LPG, etc) trading and optimisations, derivatives and New Energy opportunities. Manage external legal support on specialist matters, including derivatives, regulatory advice, vessel chartering/procurement, fleet management and trading disputes. Identify and mitigate risks and address corporate governance and regulatory compliance issues across a range of the company's Singapore-based marketing and trading activities. Support Board engagement and subsidiary company management. Provide structured and ad-hoc legal training. Skills & Experience: You must be admitted as a lawyer to practise in England & Wales or an Australian jurisdiction. Please clearly state in your application the month/year and jurisdiction in which you were admitted. Singapore practicing certificate highly desirable. Appropriately qualified with relevant tertiary qualifications (law degree) with 9+ years as a lawyer with professional experience in an international energy or commodity trading setting. Bulk-commodity vessel chartering/procurement/litigation experience highly desirable. You must be a proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Have a strong organisational and prioritisation ability. Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills, including confident interaction with executive-level stakeholders.
