12th November, 2024About the PositionOur large site at Herons Creek comprises both a Saw Mill and Dry Mill and is staffed with a welcoming and social team. We are seeking a qualified Wood Machinist who is looking for a new challenge to progress your career. You will report into our production supervisor and will be responsible for ensuring our Moulders and Cutters are set up for the day's work and maintained to achieve a high-quality standard of product and process to support our business operations.This is a Permanent Full-Time position working in a supportive team who are willing to train an individual if required. This position will work Monday to Thursday – 6am – 4pm and Fridays 6am – 1pm. There is a real opportunity for overtime to ensure equipment is set up correctly for the next shift and for maintenance work to be performed after hours.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Using a range of equipment to cut, shape and mould wood into industry set forms.Consulting plans and drawings to meet production specifications.Selection and fitting of blades, cutter heads and guides to machine timber.Operate and adjust machinery to shape and mould wood.Grinding, honing and sharpening of various machinery parts.Cleaning and maintaining the machinery, tools and workspace.Maintaining the machinery including planer, dockers, moulders.Preventive maintenance tasks planned through MEX maintenance system.To be successful in this role you will have: Trade Qualification Certificate III in Wood Machining.Previous experience in the timber industry is highly advantageous.A background knowledge of Moulders, End Matchers, Dockers and Finger Joiners is favourable.A basic knowledge of computer programmes and technology relating to wood machining.A positive attitude and willingness to work in a team.Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.What we can offer you: Secure, permanent work on an ongoing basis.A competitive hourly rate.Paid overtime opportunities as required.A positive work environment with supportive management.A social and friendly team who host site BBQ's and participate in local sporting competitions.A company that values employee health, safety and wellbeing.About UsJoin our team and be part of a diversified group with over 30 years of experience leading the way in the forestry, agricultural, and permaculture industries.
