Organisation Overview: Due to an increase in funding we have an amazing opportunity for experienced Human Service professionals to join an Organisation that aims for social change and equality for women. It provides various services, including Homelessness Services, Sexual Assault Support, and a Women's Health Service. They are committed to crisis support, trauma-informed counselling, and advocacy.
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Social Worker or Human Services Practitioner to support women experiencing homelessness, especially those escaping domestic violence. You'll provide case management, crisis support, advocacy, and referrals. Leadership and mentoring within the team are also key aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
Support women in crisis, providing case management and housing assistance Facilitate access to necessary services and help women build independent living skills Provide emotional and practical support, including budgeting and debt management Assist in establishing and sustaining housing, while facilitating social contact and community integration Participate in the Sexual Assault Response Team, offering 24-hour crisis care Lead and mentor team members, ensuring effective service delivery Advocate for women's rights and promote social justice in service provision
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences/Social Work or equivalent experience Minimum 3 years of experience in homelessness or related fields Understanding of feminist principles and violence against women Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse backgrounds Valid Queensland driver's license and Working with Children Blue Card
