ARIC, City of Mitcham Council
The City of Mitcham (Council) is seeking expressions of interest for an Independent Member position on its Audit and Risk Committee (Committee).
The Committee comprises five members: four Independent Members and one Council Member and is charged with enquiring into, providing advice on and making recommendations to the Council where necessary with respect to matters including:
Financial Reporting and Sustainability Governance Risk Management and Internal Control External and Internal Audit and Compliance Fraud and Public Interest Disclosure Policy Development About The Organisation The Committee plays an important role in assisting Council in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities in relation to governance, financial and risk management practices as well as ensuring effective communication between the Council, Administration and Auditors in accordance with the Local Government Act 1999 and other relevant legislation.
Selection Criteria We are seeking experienced professionals across a range of disciplines including finance, audit and assurance, asset management, corporate governance and emerging risks such as climate mitigation and adaptation and cyber security.
