Women of Sport Network Advisory Group Expression of InterestSportWest is seeking expressions of interest for up to two SportWest members to join the Women of Sport Network (WoSN) Advisory Group.
The purpose of the WoSN Advisory Group is to provide recommendations and information to SportWest regarding the direction and activities of the WoSN, and to guide SportWest on gender related matters and advocacy.
The WoSN will deliver dedicated networking and educational opportunities to women working and volunteering within sport in Western Australia. The program will target specific cohorts of the industry, creating tailored support to their current level.
The Network aims to:
Encourage/enable women to stay working or volunteering in sport during all stages of life.Celebrate and acknowledge women working or volunteering in sport.Encourage/enable career progression of women within sport.As a member of the WoSN Advisory Group, you will bring a breadth and depth of knowledge, relationships, and information to:
Provide recommendations to SportWest on the development and implementation of the Women of Sport Network initiatives.Act as an advocate for SportWest to raise awareness of the importance of developing valuable resources and support for women within the sport industry.Advise on pathways and programs designed to inspire the next generation of female leaders in sport.Share insights into current and emerging goals of gender equity and inclusivity.How to nominate We are seeking nominations to fill up to two positions of the Advisory Board as prescribed in the Terms of Reference:
"A minimum of five (5) individuals with a diverse range of roles from different SportWest member organisations". If you are passionate about promoting gender equity and would like to make a positive contribution and support us in the delivery of the Women of Sport Network, please read the Terms of Reference and complete and submit the Nomination Form. Closing date for nominations is 5pm Friday 12 April 2024. SportWest respects the value that diversity brings to our organisation and is seeking nominations from people who are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and/or are emerging leaders within sport and recreation.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their expression of interest nomination following final assessment at the end of April 2024.
