About the opportunity
Provide leadership and clinical expertise for the design and implementation of quality and safe obstetric services across the WNSWLHD, by (a) the personal provision of same, and (b) effectively collaborating with related services and key stakeholders on strategies to meet local need and support continual improvement and support for existing regional and rural maternity clinicians.
Location is negotiable.

To apply, please address the following Selection Criteria 1. Medical Practitioner registered with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Obstetrics eligible for appointment with WNSWLHD as a Staff Specialist, Visiting Medical Officer or Clinical Academic.
2. Demonstrated clinical expertise in the provision of maternity care, and knowledge and understanding of tiered perinatal networks and neonatal services.
3. Relevant experience in a clinical leadership/ management role in a complex health environment.
4. Demonstrated understanding of the NSW public health system and rural and regional health service challenges and operational environments.
5. Ability to provide leadership and drive change within a dynamic environment with conflicting priorities and tight timeframes.
6. High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated capability in negotiation and engagement with key stakeholders, at all levels through a collaborative, consensus building approach.
7. Demonstrated ability with conceptual and analytical thinking, and to anticipate and solve problems using strategic and innovative solutions.
8. Current license to drive in NSW, with capacity to travel within the LHD and occasionally within NSW for work purposes.
