About the opportunity
Seeking a motivated and experienced Paediatrician to join our friendly and professional team. The position arises from an incumbent paediatrician's resignation. There is a pro-rata on call component, in addition to outpatient clinic and inpatient ward rounds. A wide range of medical and non-medical problems are seen in this busy clinic.
You will be providing contemporary comprehensive specialist services for optimal patient outcomes by providing support and training to other clinicians in a dynamic multidisciplinary team. Your aim will be to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice to patients and clients in our local community.
The Dubbo Paediatric Department is a cohesive and friendly team who strive for excellence while maintaining reasonable work/life balance. Dubbo Health Service has a 13 bed Child & Adolescent Unit and an 8-12 bed, level 4 Special Care Nursery.
Middle grade cover is provided 24/7 in 12 hour shifts, by three Paediatric Advanced Trainees seconded from the Sydney Children's Hospital Network, as well as our one local Paediatric Trainee. There are plentiful opportunities for teaching, both within the hospital and throughout the region. The University of Sydney Rural School of Medicine oversees placement of 7 medical students at DHS.

Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement.
Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
Fellowship of the applicable College.
Be willing and able to run a busy outpatient clinic, demonstrating experience in managing complex medical and non-medical problems.
Current Licence to drive in NSW.
