About the opportunity The Drug and Alcohol Service is part of the Integrated Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service in WNSWLHD. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys varied clinical work in the addictions. There is a range of services including OAT, consultation-liaison with the larger base hospitals and smaller sites, Addiction Medicine clinics both in a virtual and face to face setting.
There are 3 registrars working in addiction medicine/psychiatry as well as experienced nursing and allied health staff. You will be joining a committed team working to provide addiction service in the rural setting.
The role will also involve supervision of medical and non-medical staff and the opportunity to teach medical and other students. Research is strongly encouraged and we have good relationships with a number of Universities, including Charles Sturt and Sydney. We are also part of DACRIN.

MHDA is a District-wide clinical stream with clinical sub-streams including Adult, Older Persons, Children and Adolescents, Forensics, Rehabilitation, and Drug & Alcohol. There are both hospital and community based services included in the Drug & Alcohol stream and one of only two Involuntary Drug and Alcohol Treatment units in NSW operates in Orange.
