This position assists the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in the conduct and management of the business of the Criminal Division by providing high-level witness assistance services within the framework of DPP practices and standards.

Period of Appointment Fixed term, part time commencing ASAP until 7 April 2025.
Hours per fortnight 36 hours 45 minutes per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties Undertake professional witness assistance work including:Provision of assessment and case planning in conjunction with assigned prosecutors Support of witnesses through case conferences with prosecutors Support in charge negotiation processes Support during decision making in matters which do not proceed Support of witnesses through pre-trial evidentiary conferences Court preparation including witness survival skills Liaison with other service providers to coordinate client support services Post court debriefing and outcomes conferences with prosecutors Undertake administrative tasks within the area of responsibility including participating in case and file reviews, maintaining electronic and paper based case files, and participating in performance management. Contribute to the Director of Public Prosecutions by providing support, professional advice, information, research and appropriate liaison. Assist in the development of service linkages that improve the experience of witnesses to serious crimes. Assist in the training of Crown Prosecutors. A degree of at least three years duration relevant to the professional duties to be undertaken is required, as provided by a recognised university. Current Drivers Licence. Pre-employment Checks The Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.

•Crimes against Executive or the Legislative Power
•Crimes involving Conspiracy
