Are you a skilled wireless network specialist looking for an exciting opportunity in the mining industry? We are seeking a talented professional to join a team and help to maintain seamless connectivity across the mining operations.

Your new role
The primary emphasis is wireless network (radio) access technologies supporting OT/IoT applications. You are a Subject-matter expert coordinating with the third-party wireless providers for installation, support, assessment of new technologies.
Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Wireless Lead to ensure day-to-day wireless needs are addressed in a timely and efficient manner. You are a key technical contact point for wireless access technologies - LTE/4G/5G, IOT (cellular), Microwave, Wi-Fi, Starlink. Provide general oversight of wireless vendors for device MACDs. Assist and/or coordinate major wireless growth activities with business users and vendors. Be a technical escalation point for incidents/requests between internal business customers and telecom wireless providers and equipment vendors - Telstra, Motorola, Sonim, Starlink, Cisco, Cambium. Participate in integration, testing, and commissioning with 3rd party wireless solutions. Analyse, configure network hardware, software, and services to optimise wireless network performance. Assist the Enterprise Network (Cisco) engineers with basic troubleshooting, switch setup and field support. What you'll need to succeed Previous experience in Mining Data Applications such as Fleet management, PTT Collision Avoidance for network hardware configuration setup, testing, commissioning. Understanding of sensor/IoT modem installation requirements, network coverage checks. Qualifications: Certificate IV in Communications or Electrical Trade. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, with LTE, VHF/UHF expertise. Experience in Cisco wireless networks would be desirable. Mining Experience: Previous experience in mining operations is ESSENTIAL. Cisco CCNA would be desirable. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Current Driver's licence. What you'll get in return 12-month contract with a high possibility for permanency.
