About the role This full-time Windows Engineer role at NEC Australia in Darwin, NT provides the opportunity to play a key part in the IT infrastructure and operations of a leading technology company.
As a Windows Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the company's Windows-based systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability across the organisation.
What you'll be doing Proactively monitor and maintain the Windows server and desktop environment, including operating systems, applications, and infrastructure Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Windows servers, desktops, and associated applications Implement and manage Windows updates, patches, and security configurations to maintain system integrity Collaborate with the wider IT team to plan and execute infrastructure projects, such as migrations, upgrades, and deployments Document and maintain detailed standard operating procedures to streamline IT operations Provide technical guidance and support to end-users, ensuring a positive customer experience What we're looking for Extensive experience (5+ years) in a Windows engineering or administration role, with a deep understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory technologies Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues Knowledge of best practices in system administration, security, and compliance, including experience with configuration management and automation tools Previous experience with design, implementation and/or administering storage solutions using SAN technologies.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.
