A temporary part-time WOO5 Wildlife Officer position is available at Moggill. This role will undertake diverse field and office-based work within the Koala Habitat Partnerships and Programs team, assisting the Program Coordinator to develop and implement the annual works program.
You will coordinate and manage a small team of Wildlife Officers to undertake tasks focused predominantly on koala habitat restoration, helping to protect the natural environment and plan for its future use.

As a WOO5 Wildlife Officer, you will report directly to and support the Program Coordinator to plan and deliver the day-to-day field work program in accordance with the Koala Partnerships and Programs Operational Plan.
You will lead and guide a small team, inspire enthusiasm, and ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Working collaboratively with other Wildlife Officers, delivery partners, and contractors, you will provide essential leadership to a small team, ensuring the delivery of field-based projects on properties located in South East Queensland.
Most work will be field-based, but you will also undertake administrative tasks.
About YouWithin the context of the responsibilities, the ideal applicant will be someone who has demonstrated they meet the key assessment criteria below:
Possesses knowledge and ability to implement and monitor program plans, and the skills to undertake natural resource management in the area of landscape scale revegetation and assisted natural regeneration.Has the ability and skills to undertake management of property assets and infrastructure including firebreaks, roads, fencing, and buildings.An ability to lead, participate and support others in a team, and manage the team's workload while undertaking projects and tasks to meet expected standards and outcomes.Demonstrates analytical problem solving and has the ability to prepare reports.Communicates clearly and concisely with a wide range of stakeholders.Your Key Deliverables And ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the day-to-day activities of the Koala Partnerships and Programs field team as they undertake a range of natural resource management and asset management activities across South East Queensland.Develop and implement plans and programs including landscape scale koala habitat restoration, weed management, and fire reduction activities and oversee the operation and maintenance of departmental plant and equipment.Collect and collate data from projects and contribute to reporting against milestones and expenditure.Engage and monitor consultants and contractors in line with Queensland Government procurement policies and procedures.Contribute to the management of project budget and resource allocation.Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and service providers.The position is based at Moggill; however, travel to other locations is required, including occasional overnight stays.

Mandatory RequirementsYou must hold a current unrestricted manual driver's licence or be prepared to obtain one.
There are no mandatory qualifications required to undertake this position; however, formal qualifications in Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control (ACDC), Chainsaw 1 Accreditation (FPICOT2237A/2239A), Conduct Tractor Operations (RIIMPO315D), Operation and Maintain a 4WD (RIIVEH305E), Operate Side by Side utility vehicles (AHCMOM211A) would be highly regarded.
