Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal (WICET) is a world class, industry-owned and privately-funded Terminal located at the Port of Gladstone. This modern, state of the art terminal was built to expand the region's coal export capacity, becoming operational in 2016. WICET is a $4 billion investment which operates with a high degree of automation and is committed to operating in a safe, environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be based at the Terminal in Gladstone. The primary objective of this role is to focus on eliminating equipment defects, ensure asset integrity, optimise maintenance strategies and deliver identified onsite projects. Working alongside Electrical, Structural and Control System Engineers, as well as Planning, Maintenance and Operation staff, you will influence a proactive and solution orientated work culture.
In this role you will:
Monitor equipment health and performance based on condition monitoring and OEM information. Initiate and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA). Monitor failures with CMMS failure data to develop improvement activities. Support the maintenance team in ensuring high equipment availability and reliability performance. Work with the maintenance team to review, update, manage and develop equipment maintenance strategies. Drive process discipline to ensure Preventative Maintenance is correctly planned. Lead and provide continuous improvement for all terminal plant and equipment. Deliver identified site based projects. To be successful in this role you will have:
Mechanical diploma or degree qualification with a post graduate maintenance management and/or reliability engineering qualification (essential). Demonstrated experience with RCA investigation methods preferably experienced using cause and effects methods (essential). Experience with CMMS and workflow management systems (essential).
