Specialising in the handling, processing, and marketing of slag, a by-product material from iron and steel manufacturing.
Producing products for multiple industries like cement industry, concrete industry, asphalt plants, road construction manufacturing and more.
The Role As the WHSQT Manager, reporting to the General Manager in this key leadership team, you will provide hands-on safety leadership enabling operational managers to manage their workforces and provide and maintain a safe, effective, and Quality driven workplace.
Provide safety leadership and expertise to the team working in a high-risk Iron and steel manufacturing industry.
Lead team toward harm reduction and continuous improvement.
Support team in risk assessments & management.
Lead environmental compliance and continuous improvement on site Develop and maintain effective internal audit programs and conduct regular audits against relevant ISO Standards (i.e.
ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001).
Update and maintain the company's internal management systems and safety registers including recording all information relating to safety, environment, and quality processes.
Incident investigations, incident management processes and reporting, prepare job procedures / SWMS as required.
Prepare reports for customers and all level of organization Lead worker compensation process and improve the outcomes for the employee.
Complete and submit worker's compensation claim documentation, develop return to work plans in discussion with the employee and operations team.
Develop, implement, and maintain company policies and procedures ensuring updates are being appropriately completed and communicated to management, staff, and external stakeholders in accordance with all legislative requirements and industry best practice standards.
Lead the contractor approval process as per ASMS policy and procedure Manage and provide support to contractors on site including organising of inductions.
Lead the site training programs ensuring all compliances, skills accreditation and legal training are completed You Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety (minimum Cert IV - WHS).
Strong & significant experience in WHS, Quality, Training and Management Systems.
Proven experience in WHSQ management role within heavy industry.
Knowledge and understanding of the Work Health & Safety Act, relevant standards and national legislations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with all levels of staff and management.
Familiarity with WHSQ management software and tools for incident tracking and reporting.
