About the role:
With the company showing continued growth, we are seeking an experienced WHSEQ Manager to join our Northern Territory team to oversee all WHSEQ functions. The core purpose of this role is to manage WHSEQ functions in the day to day operations. To ensure the effective implementation of the WHSEQ Management Systems across all projects. The role will provide mentoring in WHSEQ functions to the WHSEQ Advisors and operational teams and champion compliance to the company's Business Management Systems across the entire NT team.
This role is a full-time Permanent opportunity based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Relocation cost is covered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for driving compliance and achievement of the Safety Certainty 2.0 Program and ensure it is effectively implemented on site(s)
Drive a positive safety culture across the NT team, consistent with safety certainty 2 principals
Mentor WHSEQ Advisors and operational teams in the effective application of the company BMS
Assist the project team in the development of SWMSs, JSEAs and Risk Assessment Register
Train operational teams in the tools and functions of the Safety Certainty 2.0 Program
Carry out internal audits, assist in corporate WHSEQ audits, and facilitate external project/BMS audits
Assist with external certification/accreditations
Ensure Toolbox meetings are held weekly and encourage workforce feedback on WHSEQ matters
Assist in the facilitation of Union and Regulator visits with regards to safety matters on sites
Ensure new / changed Company WHSEQ processes are communicated to the Project Team and workforce, and are effectively implemented
Assist in tender preparations and presentations to customers as required, including development of Manager plans
Provide monthly progress reports to the Executive General Manager and National WHSEQ Manager
Ensure project specific WHSEQ Management Plans are reviewed as required by Project Teams
The ability to work away may be required in this position
About you:
To be successful in the role, you will need:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Certificate IV or greater in WHS
Ability to obtain ADF DCAC & Police Check
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
Good time management skills and ability to work independently
Minimum 3 years experience in WHSEQ Leadership role (desirable)
Minimum 10 years experience in WHSEQ (desirable)
ICAM Lead Investigator Training (desirable)
Certificate IV Training & Assessment (desirable)
Willingness to work remotely for periods within the NT (desirable)
Good knowledge of Asbestos Removal & Demolition (desirable)
