Be a part of a small team promoting and supporting our strong safety culture 35-hour workweek, embracing a 19 day month with a rostered day off! $68,986 to $80,175 plus 11% superannuation  THE OPPORTUNITY The WHS Officer is responsible for managing and improving workplace health and safety at Dubbo Regional Council. Working within the organisation, this position identifies and analyses risks and hazards and ensures the development of appropriate documentation and solutions which promote a work environment that allows all workers to thrive. The WHS Officer also actively contributes to safety initiatives, performance improvement and fostering a positive culture. There are two roles available in Dubbo and one role in Wellington. DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Experience in developing and implementing WHS management systems and programs Knowledge or some experience of conducting WHS inspections and risk management assessments Knowledge of Ergonomic / Manual Handling task assessments Experience interpreting WHS legislation and relevant codes of practices Possesses strong written, verbal and communication skills which are adaptable to a range of environments ABOUT YOU You're someone who thrives on innovation, ambition, and a genuine passion for ensuring everyone's well-being in the workplace. TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE Cert IV in WHS or a related field, or strong operational experience deemed equivalent Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees providing support and promoting a strong safety culture Proven experience undertaking a thorough risk assessment process identifying and mitigating potential hazards Experience in conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations Knowledge and experience with safety management systems and related technology Proven ability to interpret legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice to ensure compliance and practical application Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and record management systems WHAT WE OFFER Attractive annual salary ranging from $68,986 to $80,175 plus 11% superannuation  Flexible work options to suit your needs  Enjoy a 35-hour workweek with adaptable working hours, embracing a 19 day month with a rostered day off!
