The role: As the WHS Manager you will be the driving force behind our safety initiatives. You will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all employees and contractors.
This position is Monday to Friday 7.30am – 4.00pm based in the Geebung Office.
Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for:
Providing Work Health and Safety (WH&S) expertise and leadership to the business. Conduct project document reviews, including Safety Management Plans (SMP), Safe Work Method Statements (SMWs), and permit systems. Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments. Investigate accidents and incidents, analyse root causes, and implement corrective actions. Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels. Manage and coordinate subcontractor safety activities. Collaborate with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture. Work closely with supervisors and Qualified Technical Personnel (QTP) to ensure the implementation of safety standards and regulations, fostering a proactive safety culture within Act Now Energy Solutions. An understanding of QLD Electrical Safety regulations and standards is highly desirable however not essential. Proven experience in a safety management role ideally within the construction or electrical industry. Strong knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety laws and regulations. A proactive mindset, contributing to the continuous improvement of safety processes and procedures. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
