HunterNet Career Connections is seeking an experienced and proactive WHS&E Business Partner to support our Newcastle team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, The WHS&E Business Partner at HunterNet Career Connections is tasked with providing management support, developing, and enhancing the organisation's strategic safety management systems and processes. Primarily providing coaching and mentoring to the workforce development team, focusing on safety practices, incident response, and legal compliance, while also serving as the safety legislation and standards expert. Strategically, this role is pivotal in reinforcing our commitment to employee safety and wellbeing, driving operational excellence, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Provide support and guidance to development and execute our safety and environmental strategy, ensuring clear success metrics and regular progress reporting to leadership team, and the Board. Maintain and evolve a comprehensive risk register, identifying and mitigating risks with strategic plans, and providing regular updates to our leadership team. Champion the continuous advancement of our safety management systems, aligning with industry standards and legal mandates, and fostering a culture of best practice and excellence. Lead safety audits, develop and deliver cutting-edge training programs, and ensure seamless integration of safety procedures and technologies. Provide expert guidance and mentoring in safety management, supporting the workforce development team in achieving best-in-class safety performance and legal compliance. Offer strategic oversight in incident management, from on-site support in serious cases to directing thorough investigations and corrective actions. Providing expertise and support to our host Employers where appropriate and required. YOUR IMPACT You will drive the strategic initiatives that will significantly reduce risk and enhance safety culture, evidence by positive feedback and declining incident rates. Deliver regular safety and environmental updates, insights, and make sure that HunterNet are keeping ahead of legislative compliance and operational safety. Enhancing our policy and procedures and ensuring efficient and effective implementation, and training for our team. These efforts and contributions are essential in upholding the company's status as a leading entity in the Hunter Region, promoting sustainable economic growth, and nurturing an environment of safety and ongoing enhancement in the sector.
