An opportunity has become available for a motivated individual to join one of our large successful Companies as WHS Coordinator located at the Tamworth processing facility. The position reports directly to the National WHS Coordinator, with indirect reporting lines to the Site Manager. The positions direct working relationships may include but not limited to Site Supervisors, all production related staff, Production Manager, Distribution Manager, Maintenance Teams, and Quality Assurance teams, company contractors and suppliers. About the role: Develop, implement and review a best practice Safety Management System Develop, coordinate and implement preventative strategies, WHS policies and procedures Provide WHS advice and technical information to staff and management Provide direction, leadership and advice to the WHS Committee Coordinate emergency response measures including fire, dangerous goods, hazardous substances, first aid and evacuation Develop, implement and review a hazard/risk identification assessment and control program Identify WHS training needs and coordinate/conduct WHS training (including inductions where required) Review hazard, incident and accident information and make recommendations Be involved in workplace inspections, hazard, incident and accident investigations Conduct regular audits of the Safety Management System to continuously improve Collate and analyse hazard, incident and accident data and provide regular reports on performance to management Notify the Safework authority of serious incidents, where required Shall contact the National WHS Manager and the Group Manager in the case of a serious incident Maintain a WHS library on relevant legislation, Regulations, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards and industry guidelines Conduct health and safety promotional campaigns Manage and coordinate the rehabilitation of injured workers, where required Implement, maintain and review the environmental management system Coordinate and attend meetings and external audits as required acting on behalf of the company to ensure relevant standards are met What we're looking for Tertiary qualifications (Minimum Cert IV) in WHS or related industry experience and training Structured project management training and / or experience Current state drivers licence Ability to make quick and correct decisions "on the job" and long term decisions Knowledge of Australian Standards AS4801 or ISO 45001 (WHS Management Systems) Excellent leadership skills incorporating conflict resolution and problem solving Excellent people skills, mathematical and communication skills, both written and oral Possess well developed problem solving skills Ability to use Microsoft Office Important: Due to bio-security reasons candidates are not permitted to have any form of pigs, poultry and/or birds at your place of residence.
