About the Role As our Wholesale Risk Lead you will be responsible for participating in key risk management activities including quantitative risk analysis and development of methodology, tools and models for identifying and measuring of risks related to energy market activities that are managed by the Trading and Transition Business Unit and the broader business.

Quantification of risks and opportunities in the wholesale energy market by developing and maintaining a set of risk metrics that are kept relevant and well documented. Development and continuous improvement of market and risk reports for senior stakeholders. Provision of analytical, systems, process and documentation supporting risk team and broader business units in managing risks, while also providing appropriate controls for segregation of duties. Provide independent risk reviews on structured transactions, new products and other transactions or activities, as required. Provide inputs to the Risk Management Policy and their subsidiary policies, procedures and processes, to incorporate any changes to risk metrics and other measures, as they arise.
How can you support the Clean Energy Transition Education Minimum: Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative discipline (ideally, finance, engineering, or economics). Minimum 5 years experience of energy markets and commodity trading is required. Experience in financial risk management tools and techniques will be positively regarded (e.g., development of risk metrics including Value at Risk, Margin at Risk, Cash Flow at Risk and stress testing). Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a commercial focus and the ability to work in a dynamic environment Strong knowledge of statistical modelling techniques and their application with advanced programming languages such as R and Python. Experience in using SQL to extract and transform data. A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision to achieve the required business outputs Good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work in team environment and communicate complicated subjects.
