Our client is a women's fashion business based in Brisbane, and since their inception nearly 20 years ago they have been dedicated to creating pieces that are loved by every customer. After experiencing exponential growth both within Australia and globally, they are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join the team and oversee the day-to-day functions of the finance department.
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager who can oversee the daily accounting activities and manage the financial operations as they undergo significant global expansion. This role will be critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective cash management across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Operations Management: Oversee all daily accounting activities, including accounts payable (AP). Manage day-to-day financial operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Global Reporting: Prepare financial reports for various online stores and physical retail locations across different regions. Record and analyse sales data, maintaining historical trends and data integrity. Policy Development: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency across regions. Create and roll out cash management policies, including processes for handling cash. Maintain month-end reconciliations and oversee the monthly close process. Prepare detailed financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate funding for operations. Serve as the primary contact for banking relationships and currency management. Team Management: Supervise one direct report, delegating tasks as necessary and ensuring accountability. Prepare and present financial insights and reports to upper management. Compliance and Controls: Ensure internal compliance with financial controls and procedures, preparing for potential audits. Understand and implement US tax requirements and US GAAP in conjunction with Australian accounting practices. Identify and implement process improvements related to financial operations and internal controls. Work with the US tax accountant to ensure accurate compliance and reporting. Requirements:
Proven experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a global context for a fashion or retail brand. CPA or CA qualified. At least 5 years' experience in a finance leadership position. Strong understanding of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. Experience in cash flow and treasury management, including multi-currency operations. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Location: Brisbane
