Are you ready to take your payroll expertise to the next level? We're on the hunt for a detail-driven Payroll Compliance Specialist to join our Finance & Revenue team on a permanent full-time basis. If you have experience in the dynamic world of Enterprise Agreements and have even contributed to their negotiation through a payroll lens, we want to hear from you!
In this exciting role, you'll identify and address payroll risks, refine policies and systems, and implement robust controls to ensure seamless, compliant payroll processes. You'll be at the forefront of driving improvements and ensuring we meet all legislative pay-related obligations.
Your Role in Action Identify payroll risks, address compliance gaps, and recommend improvements to policies, systems, and processes to ensure payroll operations remain accurate and risk-free. Lead the review, enhancement, and implementation of controls for end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring compliance with all legislative pay obligations. Actively contribute to Enterprise Agreement (EBA) negotiations and implementation, including pay-related modelling, system readiness for changes, and accurate execution of new rates and allowances. Collaborate with Employee Relations to interpret Enterprise Agreements and policies, ensuring payroll is processed correctly, particularly for complex or unusual cases. Investigate instances of under or overpayment, implement remediation plans, and develop strategies to prevent future discrepancies. Partner with HR, Finance, and other teams to align systems, streamline data flows, and ensure consistent application of payroll-related policies. Support payroll audits by providing detailed documentation, addressing inquiries, and ensuring robust compliance measures are in place. Drive payroll team development by providing training on compliance, policy interpretation, and internal controls, while supporting system upgrades and acting as Payroll Team Leader when required. What Makes You a Great Fit Demonstrated experience in a payroll administration or compliance role, or auditing preferably in a large complex payroll environment (> 3000 employees) Strong understanding of payroll policies, the Fair Work Act and other relevant legislation Demonstrated experience identifying potential compliance risks, implementing corrective actions, and establishing best practices. Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical abilities including abilities to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies. Clear and concise communication and negotiation skills for interacting with employees, management, and external authorities. Organised, efficient and effective in managing deliverables to priority and expectations. Ethical judgement and a proactive and solution-oriented mindset Tertiary qualification with significant payroll and auditing experience.
