West Arnhem Regional Council covers an area of almost 50,000 km2 of stunning natural landscape in the western part of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.
More than two thirds of the region's population of just over 6,000 identify as Aboriginal Australians, who reside in a collection of towns, communities and outstations. The Council provides a range of local government services to five towns and communities across five wards with many popular tourist destinations.
About the role The Council Service Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Council services in the Jabiru Community. This includes leading and directing employees through building and maintaining productive teams and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will direct, oversee and monitor the delivery of community works, youth and recreation services, administration services, trades, and contracts.
About you Management experience in implementing Local Government services and programs according to budgets and funding guidelines. Experience in asset management, project management, people management, budget analysis, and business operations. Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds.
