About the Role
This role assists with targeted support programs as directed by the Counsellor or Leader of Diversity in collaboration with the Habitat Teacher.
Typical duties performed may include, but are not limited to:
Assist with evaluating and assessing the wellbeing learning needs of students while under the direction and/or supervision of the Counsellor in collaboration with the Habitat Teacher.
Where appropriate attend meetings involving Teachers/Counsellor and/or specialists to discuss student wellbeing, progress and needs.
Participate in planning sessions with Team Teachers to discuss students social emotional and wellbeing needs
Provide individual support to students who present with barriers to learning due to social & emotional needs
Adhere to school and habitat expectations and behaviour management plans
Report back to staff on student progress
Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and redirect all parental enquires concerning student progress to the teaching staff
Write monitoring and review notes of student work sessions
Assist student learning, either individually or in groups, where some discretion and judgment are involved in evaluating and assessing the wellbeing needs of students
Under the guidance of the Counsellor plan, implement and monitor targeted wellbeing programs
Under direction and guidance perform tasks associated with classroom learning as they relate to wellbeing learning programs and social emotional needs.
Support students in relation to their physical needs where some discretion and judgement are involved

Work Requirements
Certificate IV that includes competency in: Mental health and making appropriate referrals AND EITHER Providing Pastoral Care OR Working with youth
Completion of the eSafety Commissioner Professional Learning Package
Unless an exemption applies all staff are required to hold a current Working With Children Blue Card or be eligible to apply
Current drivers licence
