About the opportunity: We are seeking a collaborative and skilled Wellbeing Leading Counsellor to deliver a range of services across the Diocese. The successful person will provide high level advice and proactivity in the area of supporting learning and teaching. You will work in collaboration with teachers in learning spaces and partner with the leadership team.
More specifically you will: Collaborate with schools and other professionals to promote school wide mental health and wellbeing initiativesDemonstrate and facilitate counsellor professional learningEngage with families to support their child and to strengthen home-school partnershipsProvide individual and group counselling services to studentsLiaise with external agencies and professionals to enhance student supportSupport leaders and staff to respond effectively to student welfareCollaborate with key stakeholders to design personalised plans for studentsMaintain records in line with CSPD requirementsAbout you: To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the core purpose and values of CSPD along with:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work and/or PsychologyMinimum of five years' experience as a registered Psychologist or Social WorkerBe a registered psychologist or a social worker eligible for membership with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) OR general registration as a psychologist with The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Have the capacity to make a significant contribution within schools to matters related to student welfare and wellbeingHave demonstrated evidence based professionally informed judgment in dealing with sensitive issuesDemonstrate the capacity to engage students, parents and teachers in the counselling processThe capability to facilitate parent and care-giver educationCompliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearanceBe supportive of our Catholic ethosWhat You'll Get: Competitive remuneration
