Selection CriteriaDemonstrated experience in a similar role, and in the development and implementation of programs, procedures, and policies that foster resilience, social, emotional, and educational needs.Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with members of the school community including students and the capacity to provide support and/or attendant care to students where necessary.Capacity to work cooperatively with a range of people, including teachers, education support staff, external agencies, students, and parents.Demonstrated ability to assist and support vulnerable and disengaged youth within an educational setting.Demonstrated capacity to support students with challenging behaviours.Direct, guide and manage the Breakfast Club, Buddies program and Junior School Council subcommittee, and other programs as directed by the Principal.RoleRange 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in finance, human resource and other support functions.
Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school.
ResponsibilitiesManage the work practices and priorities of support staff in a school/s.Manage the maintenance of confidentiality in respect to all school records and communication systems.Lead the Wellbeing Team of the College: Chair the Wellbeing Team meetings including developing an annual action plan for wellbeing within the College.Develop processes and systems to ensure high level access to services available through the Team.Provide advice, guidance and support for students and families who are referred for counselling.Coordinate external services coming into the college to work with students.Respond to situations involving students who are displaying challenging or unsafe behaviours.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
