Essential SC1 A relevant qualification consisting of a minimum of four years tertiary training. SC2 Demonstrated high level of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in assessing complex need and risk in young people, and in developing and implementing complex intervention strategies to address these, in accordance with professional and industry standards, and in collaboration with external agencies and professionals. SC3 Substantial demonstrated theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in relation to student risk management and crisis intervention strategies, and experience in providing professional development and training programs for a range of school stakeholders, including teachers. SC4 Demonstrated commitment to DET and WMYC values, and ability and experience in providing expert advice which will influence the strategic approach to student support and learning. SC5 Current Victorian Working with Children Check. SC6 Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the structure and programs offered at Wodonga Middle Years College. Desirable SC7 Tertiary social work qualification making the applicant eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers. SC8 Sound understanding of whole school wellbeing approaches and counselling in a school context. SC9 Current Drivers Licence. Role The Wellbeing Case Manager will work in partnership with the Wellbeing Team, WMYC Leaders, and families to provide a coordinated approach to individual student wellbeing. They will report to the Assistant Principal - Student Operations, and are responsible for the implementation and review of a range of wellbeing support services/programs to address the wellbeing needs of students. This involves contributing to a whole school culture of prioritising preventative wellbeing processes and policies, as well as individual case management and liaison with staff, parents and external service providers. Completion of need and risk assessments, safety plans and support plans will be in line with industry best practice. The Wellbeing Case Manager is also responsible for providing key support and timely advice to the school leadership team.
Responsibilities Provide a high level of engagement and assessment of individual students to determine areas of risk and need, and identify, design and implement interventions to address these. Have substantial working knowledge of student risk management and response techniques and strategies. Empower students and families in help-seeking and coping behaviours and contribute to the building of their resilience. Within the school environment, act as the link between the social work and education sectors. Make decisions on complex intervention strategies, in accordance with professional and industry standards, that may have significant consequences for clients and their families. Apply sound theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in implementing service delivery options. Undertake advanced interventions in dealing with particularly complex cases that may require cross-profession or agency collaboration. Ensure quality control in relation to wellbeing practices within the school, in line with industry best practice. Provide expert advice in the social work field which will influence the school's approach to student support and learning. Implement professional support programs within the school environment, including training, development and guidance to other school staff and members of the school community. Liaise with the general school community, the Education Department and other government agencies and service providers. Provide advice, expertise and leadership in policy development that guides the development of school policy and the work of others, including teachers.
