Selection CriteriaKSC1 Relevant qualifications and experience in Student Support Services, Counselling or a relevant welfare field.KSC2 Understanding of and a demonstrated ability in recognised processes, policies, programs and research relating to student wellbeing.KSC3 Experience in the delivery of student and family wellbeing services and programs in a real setting.KSC4 Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.KSC5 Experience in the development and delivery of proactive programs to develop health and wellbeing in adolescents.KSC6 Experience in working in a diverse community.RoleThe Wellbeing and Counselling Team Manager's primary role is to ensure the effective implementation of Wellbeing at the school. The role reports to the Student Support Services Leaders.
ResponsibilitiesManage the direct leadership of the counselling and wellbeing team members.Deputize for the Student Support Services when required.Conduct the Wellbeing Liaison role with two Houses.Manage the links and contact with external organizations and agencies.Support the introduction of Positive Psychology across the school.Provide one-on-one counselling to students.Develop individual behavior management plans.Provide support to students and their families in obtaining essential school materials.Support the transition of students seeking alternative educational pathways.Provide appropriate referrals, internally and externally.Work collaboratively with a range of members from the whole school community.Advocate for refugee and asylum seeker young people and their families.Develop and deliver programs addressing specific identified needs amongst groups of students.Actively participate in professional learning opportunities.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
