Your future role:
You will be responsible for assuring the right welding quality within the site using the standards as guidelines by conducting welding inspections. You will be undertaking visual weld inspections, supervising the ongoing welding activities, conducting workstation audits and advising the teams on day to day basis of the welding practices to follow. As an expert in your field, you will support the projects and ensure that all the welding activities are completed according to applicable quality standards (AS/NZS 1554, EN ISO 15085), as well as within the HSE and quality Alstom policy.
We'll look to you for: Performing mag particle and dye penetrant weld inspectionsSupervising welding processes on the shop floorAssuring site compliance with the relevant welding quality standardsReviewing welding quality documents (WPQR/WPS/NDT reports)Supporting the weld school during welders training and qualificationSupporting the welders on the job, making sure good practices are followed.All about you: Certification as an international welding supervisor or inspector (IWS/IWI) is desiredFormal EN9712 qualification to perform MT/PT NDT is requiredFormal EN9712 qualification to perform UT NDT will be a strong advantageKnowledge and understanding of the foundations of welding processesAbility to read complex technical drawingsSound knowledge of AS/NZS and ISO welding symbolsSound understanding and knowledge of ISO 5817 and relevant parts of AS 1554Familiarity with EN ISO 15085, EN ISO 3834 and EN ISO 9606.Things you'll enjoy: Join us on a life-long transformative journey - the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career.
